Today was supposed to be the most beautiful day of the week (sunny and upper 70s) and so my girlfriend and I decided to take advantage of it and found a new park in Seattle: Carkeek. Besides Golden Gardens and Lincoln Park, I think it's the only other park near Seattle with beach access to Puget Sound. The beach here is the smallest in area of the three and it's right next to train tracks, but the park is bigger than the other two and it has many trails that run through nearby woods. We spent some time at the beach (no swimmers; the water is still too cold for most) and then walked a couple of trails. After an uphill climb on one of them, we found a meadow with a very nice view.

Total: Hiking!
