I took yesterday off and went for another run around the neighborhood. I ran a little bit faster and made 13.1 miles under 1:30. I still don't know how I ran it in 1:22 because even though I didn't push it all the way today, it wasn't easy either. I'm hoping that during the marathon, my competitive spirit will kick in again as it did this past Sunday.

I didn't take a gel pack with me today but since the water fountains are back on, I stopped twice to drink. I felt a little bit weak towards the end which wasn't unexpected. That's why I think during the marathon I'll take one gel pack at 10 miles and another one at 18 with drinks in between. Or perhaps I'll eat three: at 8, 15, and 21 miles. I should figure this out at some point before the start :-). I haven't been consistent in my past races and I haven't looked up to see if/where they'll be placed on the course.

Total: 13.1mi Run (6:49 pace; 1640 cal.; 145 lb.) + .5mi Jog = 13.6mi Run
